PUTIN BACK-FOOTS EUROPEAN UNION - NORD STREAM-1 GAS LINE CLOSED amit rao/ Sept-1 The Russian PresidentVladimir Tap-Off Europe’s Biggest Gas Supply Line Nord Stream-1 It’s not the first time did Putin cuts-off the gas supply but it’s the second time. Putin justified the repair work to be the reason of holding the gas supply to Europe for 3 days. The same reason was served before in the month of July this year when Russia closed the gas supply to Europe and resumed back after 10 days. Again EU faces gas-chokes as Gazprom confirms resuming the supply after 72 hours. Since Europe imposed sanctions on Russia, Putin started choking Europe reducing the capacity of gas supply at 20% since July which is half the capacity what Europe received. The capacity was lowered by half in July from 40%. Europe, on the other side, started stocking and reducing gas consumption but they need 27% gas deficits from the Nord Stream-1. Europe’s gas storage capacity at present is at 73% capacity. The...
