INDIA STANDS WITH RUSSIA SHOULDER TO SHOULDER

PARTIAL ON-OFF DILEMMA OF PHARMA GIANTS IN RUSSIARUSSIA IMPORTS 70% OF ITS MEDICINE FROM THE WEST

The pharmaceutical conglomerates engaged in the supply of medicines, and other life saving medicaments in Russia, spindle in confusion. It’s like a tug of war, where the Pharmaceuticals are pulled from Western and Russian sides. The ongoing Ukraine Crisis isn’t a desirable event, and not only heavy-temples Russia, and Ukraine, but also the Pharmaceuticals.
The Johnson and Johnson pharmaceutical giant, did make the Western smile, but not wider. Although it halts non-essential business in Russia, but continues to operate its essential products supplies in Russia on grounds of life necessity medical needs. While, Novartis, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Merck, Sanofi, GlaxoSmithKline, aren’t having smooth ride, they too undergo alike situation as Johnson & Johnson,  and have paused investments, clinical evaluations, etc.
The Pharma giants have come out with 50:50 adjustment module to accommodate their business in this crisis time. They have publicized their medical essential supplies in Russia to be making no profit, while some have pledged to direct the proceeds of Russian med-essential sale to the NGOs, groups that are roofing and breading the Ukrainian refugees.

The CEO and Chairman of Biotech Firm, OVID Therapeutics – Mr. Jeremy Levin, who announced economic detachment from Russia in a letter, said they would never discontinue life saving drugs/medicines from any nations (including Russia), but confirmed about the sure disinvestment in Russia.

The international sanctions on Russia, especially on import of medicines, and employment, causes concern in Russians as they now face shortages in drugs, and jobs too.
But as long as India stands with Russia, medicaments shortage can be easily met as India is the major exporter of medicine in the World. On other declining economic aspects, it’s quite evident that the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi would have already planned out the strategy of uplifting Russia’s sinking economy. He is known to come up with the most effective solution in time of crisis.
