WARSAW, May 16 - RIA Novosti. Poland will assist Ukraine in transporting grain for export, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland Henryk Kowalczyk said at a press conference on Monday in Warsaw.

"The situation in Ukraine has led to the destabilization of already volatile agricultural markets. (This) may also have an impact on the volume of future crops," Kowalczyk said after meeting with Ukrainian Food Minister Mykola Solsky and US Secretary of Agriculture Thomas Vilsack.

"In this situation, we devoted the main part of our meeting to transport systems, communication routes, which could become an alternative to the blocked ports of the Black Sea . They lead through Poland , its ports, through other European countries. The increase in rail and road transport from Ukraine through Poland is currently time is of the utmost importance," the Polish minister explained.

"Today we signed a protocol of understanding to facilitate the transportation of grain through Poland by rail or by road. The protocol provides for the creation of a joint Polish-Ukrainian enterprise that will export grain from Ukraine," he said.

In turn, Solsky said that the export of grain is a big problem for Ukraine. "If we talk about agriculture, the big problem for Ukraine is the export of grain. Ports are blocked, the creation of new channels takes time," he said.

"Solutions are needed so that we can quickly and effectively create the possibility of exporting Ukrainian grain. Poland is a key partner that can help us further. Today we signed an important document necessary to start exports to the European Union," the Ukrainian minister added.

In turn, Vilsack said that the United States is currently considering a new aid package for Ukraine. "He has now been sent to the Senate. A package that will provide additional assistance to Ukraine, including humanitarian aid," he said.

Ukraine started on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years."

For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out "demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine", to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for "bloody crimes against civilians" in Donbass .
