KURSK, May 19. /TASS/. At least seven shells hit the territory of a distillery in the village of Tetkino, Kursk region, during shelling on Thursday morning, Dmitry Grechany, director of Kurskprodukt LLC, told TASS.

Earlier, the governor of the region, Roman Starovoit said, that as a result of the shelling of Tetkino, there were dead and wounded.

“Now the sappers are working, I can’t say that for sure. 
Previously, from seven or more hits on the territory of the plant. There is destruction, but now we are examining it for now. One person died, one was injured. This is not from the staff, but from the drivers of the transport organization, which carries out cargo transportation," the source said.

The director added that the enterprise will assess the damage after the completion of the work of the sapper group. "[At the time of the shelling] the employees were at the plant. We have an area in each room where you can safely hide, and the workers were distributed to these places. None of the plant workers were injured. The total number of people - 41 was at the plant, including the deceased driver," he said.

The case of the death of the civilian population during the shelling of the village of Tetkino by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 19 was the first in the Kursk region since the start of a special military operation. During the attack on the distillery, the driver of the truck was killed, and fires broke out in the village. The village of Tetkino in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region borders on the Sumy region of Ukraine.

About 3 thousand people live in Tetkino, since the beginning of the special military operation, the checkpoint located in the village has been repeatedly shelled by Ukraine, and the shelling was also recorded on the territory of the sugar factory.
