The President of Russia Vladimir Putin, rightly predicted intentions of the long term strategy of the West in weakening Russian economy.
Lithuania blocks the
transport of certain goods of the Russian cargo in Kaliningrad region which
Russia points out as the violation of international legal obligations by Lithuania
and promises befitting revert.
The transit path
blocked by Lithuania is the only rail route that connects mainland Russia and
the Baltic Sea exclave of Kaliningrad. The ban is on specific goods like – metals,
coal, advanced technology and construction materials.

agency reports, that Russia, in order to protect the national interest, shall
execute necessary action against Lithuania if it refrains to resume full cargo transit,
and blocks Russian cargo Lithuania in future.
"We regard the
provocative measures of the Lithuanian side, which violate the international
legal obligations of Lithuania, primarily the Joint Statement of the Russian
Federation and the European Union on transit between the Kaliningrad region and
the rest of the territory of the Russian Federation of 2002, as openly
hostile," the statement says.
Anton Alikhanov, Governor
of Kaliningrad lay emphasis on coping up with the new cargoes against the backdrop
of the decision of Vilnius, clarifying that the transit of oil products via Lithuania
shall continue until August 10.
