NON-CONSENSUS ON PROCURING RUSSIAN GAS IN RUBLES BY GERMANY AND G-7 

The Russian President Vladimir Putin on March-23’rd announced gas for rubles which the European leaders do not agree upon substantiating their grounds on the enlisted currency stated in the contract.

G7 stands for Group of Seven comprising United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, Canada, France and Germany that dominates the global trade.

Olaf Scholz , the German Chancellor in a communication with Russian President Putin didn’t agree with buying Russian gas in rubles.

Olaf Scholz  - German Chancellor, in a telephonic communication with President Vladimir Putin , did not agree to switch currency to buy Russian gas with Moscow. He, along with other member nation of the G-7 aren’t comfortable, whatever may be the reason, paying in Russian currency for procuring gas from Moscow.

Olaf’s emphasized on the G-7 agreements which specifies procurement of energy in European (Euro) or Dollars.

“Chancellor Scholz did not agree to this procedure during the conversation, but only requested written information in order to better understand the procedure. The G7 agreement remains in force: energy supplies are paid exclusively in Euros or Dollars”.

The non-consensus of Germans, paying in Russian currency for gas purchase, is least to cause friction between both nations as Putin earlier had communication with Scholz which serves as an assurance of relations not turning bitter – record available with Kremlin press service. In such a situation, Putin did scope out expert discussions from both sides then.

However, the G-7 Group recently rejected Russia’s demand to pay for gas in rubles.
